As part of the "Street Art Without Borders" project, I pasted the largest work on paper I ever had to paste so far : 6,60 meters long, 2,30 meters high !!!
The final result was outstanding and greeted with a warm welcome from the homeless people living in the streets around Bràs Station, Sao Paulo.
I also pasted (with the help of Fabiano from 2D Crew) another of Ro's pieces under the Minhocao, the elevated highway which crosses the centre of Sao Paulo.

New pastings of outstanding artwork form Zilda, a french young artist from Rennes, west of France. I choose three places in Sao Paulo : top of Paulista, end of Minhocao (Bara Funda) and Bràs.
Thanks to Susan (aka as Dona Augusta), two exhibitions were organised on Oct 15 and 20 in Sao Paulo. See Susan's website :Dona Augusta
The first exhib was set up in a old butcher's shop : Z Carniceria. The artists presented were Niko, Léo & Pipo, Suriani and Ozi, with a combination of original works pasted on the walls and pictures of the same artists works taken around the world.
The second exhib, also comining pasted original works and pictures was set up at Vegas, a famous night spot of rua Augusta, Sao Paulo.
The artists were ZHE155 (UK), Nice Art, Léna, Tian (France) and 2D Crew (Brazil)
As part of "women are heroes" project, JR covers Ile St Louis's walls with 1500 m of pictures ! 15,000 rolls of paper to achieve the most gigantic ephemeral piece of art of all times.
In September, new talents from USA, Korea, Brasil, Nederlands, UK, Belgium and Australia joined the projects and were all pasted in Paris.

Thanks to the journalist Susan Eiko, a great coverage of the french, korean and US street artists pasting in Sao Paulo was published in the daily newspaper O Estadao do Sao Paulo.

Well, if "best of the world" means anything in a world full of talents, Brazil is certainly one of the most active, with so much creativity.
As part of the project "Street Art Without Borders", after Brazilian, it is now three Korean artists and three US which are pasted in the centre of Paris.
Thank you to Wany from Culturator in Seoul, for gathering and sending the artworks on paper.

Culturator , a Seoul based Gallery dedicated to street art is joining the project of traveling art aka "Street Art Without Borders" and is actively promoting the concept. This will allow soon to have Asian Street Art being pasted and displayed in Europe and Brazil.
Since last week end, 22 artists from Brazil (12), France (9) and USA (1) are on the walls of Hongkik University area. (some pics on Flickr Urbanhearts )
The latest example of traveling street art : a Paulo Ito from Sao Paulo pasted next to Nana, a famous woman artist from Seoul (left) and on the right in front of Mundanove from Sao Paulo.
Culturator, galerie à Séoul consacrée au Street Art, apporte son soutien au projet "Street Art sans Frontières" qui permet la diffusion sur les murs du monde d'oeuvres en provenance d'autres continents. 22 artistes du Brésil, France et US sont ainsi présentés au public de Séoul sur les murs du quartier de Hongik depuis ce week end. I came back to Paris with the works of 19 artists from Sao Paulo and Rio, and will paste them on Paris walls as well as on Seoul walls in South Korea, end of May.
The objective of this project is first to bring to other countries the works of artists from around the world : after pasting french artists in Bristol, UK, and Sao Paulo Brazil, I will paste the Brazilian in Paris and the french as well as brazilian in Seoul, Korea. Second, it is a way to promote actively street art as a major part of contemporary art.

Over 40 pieces of 15 different french artits took off to Sao Paulo : in addition to my usual travelling partners Kouka, FKDL, Gouny, Mimi le Clown, Larry,Tian, Stew, NiceArt and Pedro, some new ones joined the group :Looniz, Spizz, Mosko, Leo & Pipo and Niko la Cachette.
With the great help of my brazilian friends form 2D Crew, we pasted over 25 pieces in the Augusta area.

a great idea from artist SKIO led to a gathering of artists pasting their work in one of the very "chic" districts of Paris, close to Place des Vosges and rue de Rivoli.
I took this opportunity to paste some brasilian friends works, Paulo Ito and Jey , as well as french Tian and NYC Billikid .
those two pieces from Jey stayed, but the STICKS one was torn within 24hrs...some bigot people seem to be offended by nudity...

12 french artists plus one US were either glued or set up on Sao Paulo walls. Thanks to the great help of Fabiano from the Sao Paulo team 2D Crew , I could glue over 20 different pieces of art from France and USA.
Most have been glued on Rua Augusta, in the centre of Sao Paulo.
On the first one you can see FKDL, Tian, Paella and Stew. Above the Tian and Fkdl is a piece from 2D Crew.
Then you have BilliKid from NYC with a Stew, and a Némo in Vila Madalena.
Below is a Kouka being glued by 2D Crew and then Tian with Larry (the two dogs !).
The bus stop gathers Mimi le clown, Pedro, Paella, Tian and Antonin.
Last one is made of Mimi le Clown, Rero and in the frame, David Gouny.

La biche d'Antonin s'est confrontée aux regard de ses congénères du parc de Nara, ancienne capitale du Japon...avant de s'inviter à une performance d'artistes (ici KT et Ujimaru) dans ce même parc.

On July 30, I presented 20 slides related to "Urban Poetry" in front of the electric Tokyo fans of PK Nights ...a big adrenaline push !
That was a good opportunity to present some artists form Brasil, Portugal, Ireland, Germany and of course France.
Roppongi is one of the night spots of Tokyo.
The Nemo-Suntory picture has a story : Nemo came to Tokyo a few years ago to stage the background of a Suntory ad.
Street art is ephemeral art...but street art staged for photography is even more ephemeral! it's a performance made of good timing, fast execution and playing the urban poem to the tune of the photographer's eye.
Five artists (FKDL , Némo, Stew , Mimi le clown , David Gouny and Antonin) prepared art pieces on posters that I am setting up during my trip to Korea and Japan.

Pietro, aka Bol23, invited me to discover this graf spot which is "Forte Prenestino", in the suburbs of Rome. This ancient military ground is now all occupied by artists...a pretty good idea, don't you think?
C'est à Forte Prenestino que je retrouve Pietro, alias Bol23 qui me fait découvrir le temple du graf Romain, dans cet ancien fort militaire transformé en lieu de culture alternative. Une idée de transformation putôt sympathique, non?

The thematic of my presentation at the PK Night of Feb. 21 was "Urban Poetry" with a selection of pictures displaying cracks, rust, wall details .
C'est sur le thème de la "Poétique Urbaine" que j'ai présenté 20 photos de fissures, craquelures et rouilles diverses lors du Pecha Kucha du 21 février.
Les chemins de réflexions allaient de Keith Harring, "l'art vit de l'imagination des gens qui le regardent" à Marie-Claude White, auteur de "Art naturel ou artefact. La photographie comme médium de la connivence" en passant par Jiro Yoshihara, fondateur de l'art Gutai.
Sélection parmi les photos présentées ce soir là :
« L’art n’est pas à mes yeux une réjouissance solitaire. Il est un moyen d’émouvoir le plus grand nombre d’hommes en leur offrant une image privilégiée des souffrances et des joies communes » Albert Camus, discours de Stockholm, 1957. C'est autour de cette définition , parfaite illustration de l'art urbain, que j'ai présenté les 20 photos ci-dessous montrant les correspondances entre les passants et l'art urbain, lors de la soirée Pecha Kucha du 13 décembre organisée par Designers Interractifs.
Franck Duval, alias FKDL éclaire les murs de Paris comme l'illustre parfaitement cette première photo faite à l'issue d'un collage gigantesque réalisé en bordure du canal St Martin, le 11 Novembre 2007.

Un peu plus de 1000 photos d'oeuvres de street art de San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland et Seattle viennent compléter ma quête d'art contemporain.
Ces quelques exemples illustrent la variété présente à San Francisco, entre le muralisme mexicain, le surréalisme, le politique.
La première est sur un immeuble lui même oeuvre d'art délirante avec son mobilier accroché en façade ou sortant par les fenêtres!
Over 1000 pics of SFO street art (a few from Berkeley, Oakland and Seattle too) complete my perpetual quest for contemporary art. Here are a few samples from San Francisco. Look at the first pic where the building itself is a piece of art with hanging furniture!
When the walls are the easiest way to promote a political message...that was in essence what Danny Devenny explained during an improvised interview in Belfast last week. Danny is an historical figure who went to jail and learned there the art which is now displayed on Belfast walls. See below his anti-Bush potest. Further down are samples of he two communities antagonisms : the catholics and the protestants.
"C'est en prison que j'ai appris à peindre" me dit Danny Devenny, figure historique du combat des Républicains Catholiques contre les Loyalistes Protestants. Le mur ci-dessus illustre tous les combats contre la politique de G.W. Bush. Les autres murs ci-dessous représentent un échantillon des oppositions toujours vives, malgré un net appaisement politique, entre les communautés protestantes et catholiques à Belfast ou Derry.

Pierre-Louis Naty, dit "Pedro" est un personnage, toujours accueillant, qui pochoirise depuis des annèes, maniant humour et talent pour afficher Antonin Artaud, Sigmund Freud,Tom Waits, Samuel Beckett ou Marylin Monroe...entre autres! 
Son atelier est dans l'une des rares rues de Paris qui a son mur d'expression libre : la rue Denoyez, à Belleville.
